The Middlesex Club, founded in 1963, is a private swimming, tennis and social club. It is owned by the families who are its members. There are approximately 250 bond holding member families, which includes Regular, Limited, and Non-Resident member families. The Club’s facilities are located on 10 acres of land and consist of a six lane 25 meter swimming pool and diving tank with a one meter diving board. Additionally there are 8 har-tru tennis courts and 4 paddle tennis courts. There are Clubhouse and Tennis Pavilion facilities, plus a Snack Bar. The Club has professional tennis, swimming and diving coaches and staff. Teams are organized for both children and adults in all the Club’s sporting activities, and the Club competes in Inter-Club competitions.
Various social functions are held throughout the year, including Club picnics, cookouts, parties and dances.
Overall management of the Club is the responsibility of the Officers and the Board of Directors. All these positions are both elected and voluntary. Day-to-day management is the responsibility of the Club General Manager, who is a Club employee.
New families seeking membership must have a current active member sponsor their application. The sponsor is required to know the applicant for at least one year. Additionally, the Club requires two other members to second the application. Specifics of the membership process are contained within this handbook and on the Club webpage.
Full time active membership is limited and new applicants are placed on a waiting list, pending resignation of an active member. New members are admitted only on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.
