Swimming, Diving & Waterpolo
Swim Chairpersons Madeleine Treesh, Anne Geissenger, Virginia Dwyer-Aoyama

Membership on the swim/diving team is open to all girls and boys 17 and under. The team participates in meets with other Division I clubs in the Fairfield County Swimming League. We encourage all who are interested to join the team. All parents of team members are required to time at meets during the summer.

Swim Team Goals: To foster team spirit and encourage individual progress, children of the same age practice at the same time. The coaches enter swimmers in Green or White meets based on their swim times. The Green meets are more competitive than the White meets. An individual swimmer may swim in both Green and White meets during the summer. Not all young swimmers are ready for the swim team and may be encouraged to participate in the Pre Team program. The swim coach will recommend the appropriate placement for each child.

Swim Clinics offer team members an opportunity to develop and perfect stoke techniques. Clinics are held for 30 minutes, 4 days a week (time to be determined) and will concentrate each week on a different stroke. In addition, weekend clinics focusing upon the technical aspects of starts, turns and finishes will be offered.

Pre-Team meets daily and is considered to be part of the swim lessons program. The swim lesson fee schedule applies for Pre-Team.

Group Swim Lessons are available for groups of 4-6 children. Group lessons meet for 30 minutes in the afternoon 4 days a week. Lessons can be scheduled for one week or for several weeks. The fee schedule and a sign-up sheet will be posted at the Club at the beginning and throughout the season.

Water Polo is an active part of the summer water program. All children are welcome on the team. No prior Water Polo or Swim Team experience is necessary. The team has three different age groups, Midgets (9- & 10-year olds), Juniors (11- to 13-year olds) and Seniors (14 & over) and competes in matches against FCSL Division II teams.

Private Swim and Dive Lessons can be arranged directly with the coach of your choice. All lessons must be billed through the Club.
